Scott and Whitney: Kevin & Rachel Tie the Knot!

My little brother Kevin married his gorgeous bride Rachel on August 11th! Welcome to the family Rachel! They got married in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple and the Sealing was so beautiful. They were able to be sealed by her grandfather, Gerald Lund, and he said some amazing, powerful, and sacred words. The Spirit was so strong and it felt so great to be in the House of the Lord. To learn more about LDS Temples, click here. After the Temple, they had a beautiful luncheon and reception in Highland. It was so fun to see all of our family and friends over the weekend. We went to Utah on the Thursday before they were married so that we could spend time with friends/family that we DEEPLY miss in Utah. If you couldn't tell, I have really been missing all my friends in Utah, so it was great to see them all again! On Thursday we had a 3 hour delay in our connecting flight at Vegas which was a huge bummer, especially since it threw Brooklyn all off. Once we finally made it to Provo, we went over to my friend/cousin Ashley's house and went to dinner with her, her husband Casey, my cousins Becca and Chad, and my good friend Sara. Afterwards, we walked around the Riverwoods for awhile and then we went over to our good friends Sam and Allison's place, where we stayed the weekend. Sam and Allison were so incredibly nice to let us stay with them. They are expecting their little girl in just a few short weeks so it was perfect b/c they had a bunch of baby stuff that they so willingly let us use! On Friday, we went out to breakfast with our cousins Becca, Mckenzie, and Chad at Kneaders and then spent the afternoon with one of my really good friends, Whitney, and her little boy Calvin. It was so fun to see how grown up Calvin has become! Whitney was in the nursing program with me and she was my very first lab partner in our assessment lab where we bonded and were practically joined at the hip the rest of the program. I have really missed seeing her on a day-to-day basis and am so excited for her and Calvin to come visit Brooklyn and me in a few weeks while Scotty goes on a week long Pack Trip with his dad. After lunch at Zupas with Whit, we went to the BYU Bookstore and ended up getting Brooklyn an adorable, pink BYU hat (we'll see if she will keep it on). That night we went out to dinner with Sam and Allison at Brick Oven and spent the rest of the night lounging and catching up which was so nice. Saturday was filled with wedding festivities. On Sunday, my parents came over to play with Brooklyn before my dad, my sister Erica, and her boyfriend John had to leave. My mom and other sister Heather were staying for a few extra days while my sister went to a UVU recruitment softball camp, so they came over later and had lunch with us. Sam and Allison spoiled us with their amazing cooking skills and made us the best tacos we have ever had-we have already made these since being home!! We flew home Sunday evening and they seemed like super long flights. We are pretty traveled out right now. Brooklyn did the worst she has ever done on the plane rides home so I think she was sending me a clear message that she wanted a break too. :) We were really sad to leave all of our friends and family again and wish we could see them all more!!! Special thanks to Sam and Allison for letting us stay with them, you guys are so great!!
