Nicole's Baby Blessing

This past weekend Scotty, Brooklyn, Scott's parents, and I drove down to LA and Newport Beach for our niece Nicole's baby blessing. We left Thursday evening so Brooklyn would sleep most of the way and we stayed at Grandma Anderson's house. On Friday we hung out at Grandma's, went to Tommy's for lunch (they are all obsessed with this place-have yet to figure out why! :)), did some shopping at Americana, and then went out to dinner with Grandma, Craig and Stacy, and our Uncle Scott's family. On Saturday we drove down to Newport Beach to spend the day with Brian, Lyndsay, Chad, and Nicole. We went down to Balboa Island and took the ferry across to the Peninsula, walked around Fashion Island while Chad and Brooklyn took naps - Grandpa offered to stay home, went out to dinner and did a little more shopping. Sunday was the baby blessing and we tried to stay awhile at Lyndsay's family's beach house they are renting for the week but we couldn't find ANY parking-it was out of control! So we made the trek back home. Brooklyn did awesome again. I always get anxiety before taking her on trips, especially when we drive b/c she hates her carseat, but she always seems to pleasantly surprise me. We loved being able to see family and spend time with Brian and Lyndsay and their sweet family. Little Nicole is a doll and Chad gets cuter and more hilarious every time we see him. Chad was so sweet with Brooklyn and loved playing with her. He would hold her hand, give her kisses, and loved when she would give him kisses even though they were very slobbery! You can tell he is a great big brother!

We are glad we made the short trip down!
